Best of Cape Tour

For those with a limited schedule, this full-day tour is a combination of Cape Point and the Winelands. We start off the day travelling around the Peninsula and then make our way through to the world-famous Stellenbosch wine region in the afternoon.

Winelands Tour

The world-famous Cape Winelands are a visual feast of lush green valleys, rugged mountains, fine cuisine and, naturally, excellent wines. The dramatic scenery forms a backdrop to the unique Cape Dutch architecture, with its distinctive gables and thatched roofs.

Township Tour

This tour shows how the majority of South Africans live in the buzzing townships. It is an excellent opportunity to interact with local communities and share in the rich African culture and traditional values. Experience unique township culinary delights, or try some home-made brew in a shebeen (pub) while enjoying some township jazz. Visit an African craft market, spaza shop, school, orphanage, community centre and a traditional healer.

I’m sure that there be no introduction to Table Mountain needed, however I would like to recommend that you visit the mountain top should time allow you to. Most times guests visit the mountain top as part of a tour, however many guests fail to realize that this is a tour of it’s own and does not require nearly half the amount of time needed for the above mentioned tours. Should you wish to visit Table Mountain but don’t necessarily have the time to do so as part of a tour, on the day please visit the travel desk where the consultant on duty will be able to assist you with a transfer to the mountain side where you could purchase a cable way ticket for R205-00 and explore the mountain top. This will take you about 1-2hrs, depending on what you would like to do and how much you would like to see. Please note that this is most definitely weather dependant. Another option to explore the mountain if you are most daring and adventurous is that of a guided hike to the mountain top, thereafter you could return to ground level with the cable way or walk down once again. The “Hike” is not as demanding as one would interpret but merely a strenuous walk with a few obstacles along the way.

Robben Island’s most famous resident was Nelson Mandela, who spent most of his 27 year prison sentence there. The island is now a museum and conservation area and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1999 and today has become one of Cape Town’s top attractions. As a result visitors can share a part of this experience by joining the Robben Island Tour operated by the Nelson Mandela Gateway. The duration for the tour is between 3 and a half hours and 4 hours at a cost of R250-00 per person. It is highly recommended that this is booked in advance as the tour is weather permitting and often bookings are backlogged due to bad weather.

Finally, should you have a lot of time on your hands, I would like to recommend that you visit a safari lodge which ranges from 1.5hrs-2.5hrs outside of Cape Town. Aquila ( just over 2 hours drive from the City). For Please note that this lodge is not of the equivalent standard of the Kruger National park and produce the closest standards to real thing as possible. In addition to the above mentioned lodge, there are a few more along the South Eastern Coast of South Africa, also known as the Garden Route, but to visit these it would require an overnight stay.

If you are of the adventurous type, there are many extreme activities such as Sky Diving, Shark Cage Diving, Motor Boat harbour trips and many more. Should any of these activities interest you I would recommend that upon your arrival you visit the travel desk where the consultants will be able to assist you best according to your needs.
